Counterculture

Week 10 - 1960's
http://divinediptychproject.blogspot.com/
This week I was paired with MMaeb ... I have yet to see her image and can't wait to see what she's done!

I went for a counterculture rebellion style 1960's theme. Had a hard time choosing which image I wanted to use. But this one won out in the end.

Sixties Style

I've had trouble deciding which I prefer for my 'final' shot. However, I'm really into the natural feel of this image. More to come.

60's bombshell

Kayleigh looking smokin here...get it? Smokin.

Kayleigh

Model: Kayleigh
Assistant: Nathan J Haynes
Photographer: Me

I told Kayleigh think Brigitte Bardot when we were discussing what I wanted for the shoot. I think she nailed it.

the gang - outtake

Model: Kayleigh, Naomi, Sammy, Fay and Nathan
Assistant: Jay
Photographer: Me

An outtake from the 1960's styled shoot that I love. I love it because it's very natural. They were all great sports and were having a bit of a laugh.

Fields, mini's and the 60's

Model: Naomi
Assistant: Nathan J Haynes
Photographer: Me

Today after a bit of organising and facebook stalking, I had a shoot with new models. Naomi and Kayleigh. Luckily, they didn't find the fact that I had sort of facebook stalked them from another friends profile and agreed to do a shoot with me. Armed with an air rifle, mini and the desire for awesome locations we headed out for 5 hours of crazy shooting. We were later joined by Fay and Sammy to complete a scene I wanted to shoot with the mini.

Here's a quick preview of Naomi. She was a good sport as I made her hold the gun in the air for at least a half an hour ;)

Pearls and games

The theme my diptych partner Eva and I were given for week 9 was "Heirloom". I have to admit I wasn't particularly inspired and being limited on time I gave myself a time limit of 15 minutes to create the image. Knowing that I didn't have any real ideas for the theme, I set myself on the task of creating a still life with an old pearl necklace I have had for 16 years. The case you see is actually a gift I was given from my Mr. for my recent 30th birthday. Inside this beautiful intricately painted case is one of my favourite games, Mahjong. Second only to my love for chess. :)
