Latest News

I have been a busy bee so far this (uni) year.  I am currently working on my final year project, in which I've gone old school technical and spend most of my time these days in the processing and darkroom.  If you're curious to see, here's a glimpse of initial test print of one image.  Annoyingly I will have to shoot this one again as I managed to scratch the neg.  That will teach me for being so cavalier with my negs. (though to be honest I needed to reshoot anyway.)

Sarah Smith Balloon Dress

Designer: Sarah Smith
Photographer: Leilani Winslade
Model: Sophie

Here's the first shot from my shoot yesterday. I wanted to get this up before I go to Paris. Sarah's dresses are amazing, they are literally made out of hot air balloon material. I will upload more when I can.

I've finally been back in the studio after a very long summer break from almost all photography. I think I needed a bit of a break to clear out the cobwebs. Im back at uni now, in my final year, already working on my final year project. I'm quite excited about it and can't wait to show it when it's finished.

Sarah and I finally got our act together and shot her balloon dresses in studio today. Sophie, my go to model was fantastic as usual. After a few hitches in the studio, we managed to cram in a full shoot in less than half an hour. I guess I do work better under pressure. I'm working on the edit as I type (sort of) and can't wait to update with some final images.

To nipple or not to nipple, that is the question.

I sometimes find it difficult to decide whether to add the nipple or not.

There is no reason to be ashamed of a nipple. The double standards in society are beyond comprehension. Men can freely bare their nipples to the world, but we as women must cover ours in sometimes shame.

The only reason I can see for covering the nipple, is so that we as women, shield men from the loss of intelligence when the blood goes from their head, to the penis.

*ironically - i've taken down the nipple version as I'm tired of the pervy messages

It's amazing how much my tastes and skills change over time. Going back through my archives I find myself drawn to images I had before rejected.
